 Capital City Clean Up

Picture
Capital City Clean Up’s Graffiti Management Program was launched in 2008 in direct response to concerns raised by citizens on the growing amount of graffiti vandalism in Edmonton.  As of April 1, 2008, the Edmonton City Council amended City Community Standards Bylaw 14600 to require property owners to remove graffiti vandalism from their property or face a $250 fine.

To support property owners, and reduce the feeling that they were being further victimized, the City initiated the Capital City Clean Up’s Graffiti Management Program (GMP). Under the GMP, Capital City Clean Up provides seven specific programs to remove, prevent and encourage community participation to address graffiti vandalism in the city.

In addition, Capital City Clean Up works closely with the Edmonton Police Service to support their efforts in graffiti criminal enforcement, as well as with the City’s Community Standards bylaw enforcement section.

Edmonton is extremely proud of the great strides they have made in the past three years.
